Executive Board (2016-2017)

Executive Board

The RUAIR Executive Board is composed of student leaders elected to direct the organization and enhance member experience. If you have any questions about the club, the Model UN Team, or any other inquiries, please feel free to contact the Executive Board at Rutgers.United.Nations@gmail.com

President - Gabriel Borger, SOE Class of 2018

Picture
Gabriel Borger is a junior in the School of Engineering majoring in Industrial and Systems Engineering and Political Science. Gabe is also the Secretary General of the inaugural Rutgers International Security Council (RISC). Native to São Paulo, Brazil, he began his Model UN career in high school at Graded–The American School of São Paulo. Continuing his Model UN career at Rutgers, Gabe was an active member of RUAIR his freshmen year and served as Co-Head Delegate along with Eli Liebell-McLean in his sophomore year. When not competing at Model UN conferences or engaging in political banter with fellow members, Gabe can be found trying to play his guitalele, studying engineering in ridiculous places, or cooking in his apartment. Gabe enjoys traveling, the beach, and an assortment of exotic natural juices. If you have any questions about RUAIR, want to debate political systems and radical centrism, or are looking for a game of R.I.S.K., feel free to contact Gabe at GabrielBorger@gmail.ocom.

Head Delegate – Eli Liebell-McLean, SAS Class of 2018

Eli Liebell-McLean is delighted to serve as co-Head Delegate of the Model UN Team this year. A junior in the School of Arts and Sciences, Eli is majoring in English and Political Science, and he feels doubly prepared for a post-college life as a waiter. Eli spends his spare time reading books, hiking, and listening to tunes. Eli has been involved in Model UN since high school, where he served as Director of Conference Preparation. He is particularly interested in Model UN as a method of exploring other perspectives and debating the integration of country specific legal, political, and cultural beliefs into international policy debates.

Head Delegate – Anthony Yew, SAS Class of 2018

When he is not doing Model United Nations, Sandeep is also a major member of Rutgers for Hillary and other efforts of the Democratic Party. His favorite leisure activities are reading and watching dramatic television shows.

Director of Logistics – Nour Abraham, SAS Class of 2018

Picture
Nour Abraham is a junior at Rutgers University majoring in Applied Physics and Mathematics. Although brand new to Model UN upon embarking his undergraduate career, Nour has staffed at and competed in a number of conferences during the past three years through the the Association of International Relations, the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia, and the Institute for Domestic and International Affairs. At Rutgers’ first-ever collegiate conference RISC, Nour will serve on the Secretariat as Under-Secretary General. Outside of Model UN, Nour is an executive board member of the on-campus non-profit Student Peacemakers, and is an active member of the Society of Physics Students and Arab Cultural Club. Nour is also a Research Assistant at the Department of Physics, and in his spare time can be found playing a number of instruments, calculating linear regressions, or starting one of many Arduino projects. If you have any questions about Model UN, need some music recommendations, or want to have an intense debate about the Modern Middle East, contact Nour at nourmabraham@gmail.com.
