2020-2021 Executive Board

President - Evan Whitwam, SEBS Class of 2022

The President is the Senior Co-Leader of RUAIR and co-heads the Department of Executive (, Internal, and External Affairs). The President set's the broader agenda for the club. The Department is charged with the administration of the club, including oversight and inter-department mediation, as well as communications with outside organizations, school departments, etc.

​Evan is a junior double majoring in both landscape architecture and urban design. Evan Whitwam is RUAIR’s President for 2020-2021 school year. Evan was born in Hong Kong and raised in the city of Shanghai and attended Western International School of Shanghai for high school. From there Evan attended multiple international Model UN conferences. To continue his love for Model UN, Evan joined RUAIR as a freshman and rose up the ranks to become club president.
Fun MUN Moment: Had a lady with blood cover the walls of the hotel hallway during a conference. (He is not capping). 
His Agenda: Reform, and engagement. Evan hopes the club can grow to new heights while still fostering a strong and fun RUAIR family.

Vice President- Derek Lin, SEBS Class of 2023

The Vice President is the Junior Co-Leader of RUAIR and co-heads the Department of Executive (, Internal, and External Affairs). The VP serves to execute the President's Agenda, and aids in the administration of the club, including oversight and inter-department mediation, as well as communications with outside organizations, school departments, etc. 
​Majoring in Biology (possibly double majoring in Public Health), Derek is a sophomore in SEBs currently on the premed track and is RUAIR's Vice President for the 2020-2021 school year. Raised in Bergen County, Derek would go to the Bergen County Academies for high school where he would be introduced to Model UN. Having been a delegate for BCA for four years as well as participating in AMUN as a chair and later USG of Crisis, Derek joined RUAIR as a freshman and found his home here. When he's not doing things related to MUN, Derek's enjoys playing various GS games from Paradox Interactive, watching cartoons, and pretending to be productive at school. He is also an Eagle Scout and an EMT for his local town. 
Fun MUN Moment: Derek says his favorite MUN moment was playing Jack-Box with the rest of the team after meeting for 2 hours
His Agenda: Running on a platform of Democracy, Reform, and Community Derek hopes to help bring a new age for RUAIR based on those three points. His planned major projects for this year include a constitutional revision, reviving International Relations forum, and social events for our RUAIR faMUNly.

Head Delegate- Eve Jenski, SAS Class of 2023

The Head Delegates serve as co-Captains of our Model UN Team. They are responsible for the training, discipline on trips, coaching, and cohesion for our delegations during trips. While the dynamic between our head delegates may change from year to year, they will always been taking steps to improve our club's skills and also the fun we have at MUN.

Eve Jenski is a sophomore majoring in Sociology with a minor in Linguistics, hoping to utilize their education to tackle issues in education inequality. Eve is one of RUAIR Head delegates for the 2020-2021 academic year. Eve started their college Model United Nations journey with no prior experience and hopes to encourage growth in members with a similar background. In their free time, Eve enjoys reading and learning about different cultures.​
Fun MUN moment: Used tabloids to expose a circle of adultery in Hollywood actors.          
Agenda: Develop tailored curriculums for both experienced and new delegates.

Head Delegate – Julia Hyman, SAS Class of 2024 

The Head Delegates serve as co-Captains of our Model UN Team. They are responsible for the training, discipline on trips, coaching, and cohesion for our delegations during trips. Julia is majoring in political science and public policy and she is a part of the class of 2024. Her interests include running, taekwondo, watching TLC and eating! Some fun facts about Julia is that she's a black belt in taekwondo and she's written an article published on Rutger’s Worldview.
Fun MUN Moment: When Eve played Abigail Williams in the Salem Witch Trial simulation.
His Agenda: Growing and nurturing the competitive spirit RUAIR while keeping the club friendly and inviting.

Director of Communications – Adwait Ghotikar, SAS Class of 2024

The Director of Communications is our Club's Secretary. Leading the Department of Communications (and Information), the Director of Communications is responsible for our social media presence, this website, records keeping, archiving and history for our club. Our DoCs are the EBoard's primary messenger, and you can be sure to hear a lot from them!

Adwait is a freshman currently looking to major in economics and political science. After attending two conferences in his first semester Adwait is honored to serve as the club's Director of Communications and Information for 2020-2021 academic year. During his spare time, Adwait enjoys playing music and reading about politics.
Fun MUN moment: During HALLMUN, Adwait weasled his way into the Brazilian government, lead a coup, and installed himself as the King of Brazil. His committee focused on the Disney Board of Directors. 
His Agenda: Adwait wants to extend club attendance and bring the world of Model UN to as many students as possible. His goals within the club are to make RUAIR both fun and interesting for every single member.

Director of Logistics – Marybeth Illoh, ​SAS Class of 2023

The Director of Logistics is our Club's primary event planner and coordinator. Leading the Department of Logistics (and Events Planning), the Director of Logistics is responsible for making sure all of our planned events and activities go smoothly and efficiently. Our DoL is sure to make sure all the moving parts are going as scheduled, and also keep track of service hours.

Marybeth is a sophomore double majoring in Criminal Justice and Political Science.
Marybeth was first introduced to Model UN through the GetInvolved page in her freshman year, it took just one meeting to make her fall in love. Marybeth is delighted to serve as the Director of Events Planning and Logistics for the 2020-2021 academic year. In her spare time, she loves to watch crime documentaries and read. Marybeth is enamored by the exceptional benefits of Model UN; such as public speaking, negotiation, team work and delegation to name but a few.

Fun MUN moment: Tryouts during spring 2020, having to play the role of the Secretary of Government in the fight for the autonomy of Catalonia from the Spanish government.
Her Agenda: To ensure that all conferences and RUAIR events will be smooth and successful, to create a welcoming and friendly environment on each trip we embark on as not just a team but also as a family.  

Director of Treasury – Deepti Vajapey, SAS Class of 2024

The Director of Treasury is our club's primary Treasurer, and heads the Department of Treasury (and Budget). Keeping a collected, organized budget and presenting the best possible appeal for funds to RUSA Allocations is their primary task, but when that doesn't work they'll be sure to organize fundraising efforts to gather more than enough money for our club!

Deepti is double major in history and political science with a possible minor in comparative literature. She is considering a career in immigration law and/or holding a position in public office. She has gone to two different high schools but kept with MUN for four years and won awards along the way. When not doing MUN, she like binge watching TV shows such as Community or Peaky Blinders once in a while, cooking, and making art. 
FUN MUN moment: Having a rap battle in front of half of all the participants of the conference.
Agenda: Streamlining financial budgeting for RUAIR, while collaborating with other officers to raise the club up.
