Last night, by a vote of 6-0-1 RUAIR's Eboard approved a calendar for September. This calendar details all the events and meetings RUAIR plans to have the next month, as well as some preliminary information related to them.
In addition, we have currently scheduled 3 nights for interest meetings for new members. These nights are Tuesday August 25th, Wednesdsay August 26th, and Thursday August 27th at 8pm EST. Presented jointly by members of Eboard, it will help new members get acquainted with club. To the members and prospective members of RUAIR,
I hope this message reaches you all well, and that all of you had an enjoyable Independence Day weekend! This morning as many of you saw, President Holloway and others have released a succession of statements regarding the fall semester. According to their statements, most students will not be able to return to campus for the fall and in any case clubs are heavily discouraged from meeting in person.
RUAIR is committed to adjusting to unusual circumstances we find ourselves in. We intend to continue to carry out our club’s founding mission, that is “to increase the level of understanding, interest, and debate of topics on international affairs...promote a better understanding of the global political environment...and to offer Rutgers students the opportunity to participate…[in]Model United Nations conferences” (RUAIR’s Constitution 2017-2018). While the circumstances are not entirely optimal, we will be hosting biweekly meetings online in the fall. We will continue our efforts to keep all members closely in the loop, to train and integrate new members, and to grow as both individuals and as a club. Furthermore, unless otherwise stated, we still plan to go as a delegation to both Columbia and Yales’ respective Model UN conferences. At the moment, we are still funded for these trips and we will still host tryouts and train our delegates as planned.
From our loyal members, we ask for your patience and understanding for some of the challenges Rutgers, and indeed the world, are facing at the moment. Your Eboard is working diligently to overcome these obstacles and will continue to do so over the summer to ensure that we still have a fun, educational, and engaging fall semester. We heavily advise that all members join our discord. We will continue to monitor the situation at hand, and regularly update the club with news as they develop.
The Executive Board of RUAIR (2020-2021)
A new season has brought a new Eboard forward for RUAIR. Elected in April, the seven members of the new RUAIR Executive Board are as follows:

The new Eboard promises to govern on three principles - Democracy, Reform, and Community. While they acknowledge that RUAIR has gone through some hard times, they thank past Executive Boards for stabilizing the situation. Now, they intend to help rebuild the club and bring it to new heights.
The day election results were announced, the new Executive board quickly moved to transfer power and begin their quest to carry out their promises. On April 30th, 2020 the executive board quickly voted on three motions, including two directives. The first motion, passed unanimously, reestablished the positions of Director of Communications and Director of Logistics, adopted the Reform Ticket Agenda as the club agenda and officially established a discord server for RUAIR. That same day, a directive was passed unanimously called 14 Days to the Future which established a rough timeline for changes for RUAIR. In addition, another directive called Turning the Lights Back On formally laid out plans for revamping the RUAIR website. This meeting was hoped to be important to the history of RUAIR because it establishes a more formal format for legislation in club, and greater accountability and record keeping for the new RUAIR. The President laid forward his plans in his email, outlining his goals for Communications Update, Active Recruitment, Subcommittees, Improved Training Sessions, and a Flexible Constitution.
A few weeks later, after finals were completed under the shadow of a raging Corona virus epidemic, the executive board met again on Monday April 18th, this time for a planned regular set of meetings. The executive board did not dawdle during those few weeks - rather they moved quickly to start revamping the website, social media, reregister club, organize a budget, organize plans for delegate training, and also organize internal administration. By the time the Executive Board met that Monday night, there was plenty to discuss. Looming over the meeting was the issue of finances, and a task force was created to address it by the end of the meeting including the President, Vice President, Director of Treasury and Director of Logistics. In addition, a directive establishing a google drive folder passed called The Forward Drive. This google drive is hoped to be the center of documentation and logistics for RUAIR, and is in the process of being organized.
The future, while not certain (especially with fall semester still hanging in the balance, looks fairly bright upon RUAIR. The spirit of change is in the air, and it now remains to be seen if it will amount to be enough for a new day in RUAIR.
